Tell us about Telus
Today, we became the new proud owners of 175 shares of Telus (T) at $35.76. Those are some odd numbers and sizes but it utilized almost all of the cash. I think the main points for Telus is to play the profitable canadian wireless market; plus T has lagged relative to Rogers and Bell over the past year or so.
I know in Toronto we only see some small Telus kiosks in malls, but they are the dominant incumbent carrier out west. When I was in Vancouver a few years ago, I know I was dinged by a few large internet and cell phone bills. Which makes them a great business, right?

i love it. I bought Telus two weeks prior for my personal account! When I read that Bell spent 375 million to sponsor the Winter Olympics and that Telus let them outbid them on their home turf I thought it was time for Telus to start rebounding and outperforming Bell. There's no way they could have had that many new subscribers or charged that many texting fees during the two weeks of the games. I am always suspect of splashy commercialism especially at the Olympics. Good sports makes bad business especially at the Games! Maybe the market neutral way would be to short BCE too?
